Let me start by saying, "NOBODY wants to go to any hospital!"
Due to accidents I had to visit here a couple of times in the last ten years. The place was always clean and the staff were all personable. Just don't expect to get any meds if you're in pain.
Once, I fell 4 feet from my cabin doorway. I landed on my side onto the disconnected set of stairs below. X-rays showed I broke 3 ribs. I was told to take aspirin and tough it out.
I would have saved $1000 by just staying home for two weeks.

Very friendly folks that work at WCH. No issues with quality of patient care. I do not recommend the hospital because their billing department is a joke. If you don't stay on top of them and keep adequate records, you'll end up paying more than you should. On multiple occasions we have been billed twice for the same visit. You're fortunate if you receive a bill any earlier than 6 months from the service date. I hate to write this because otherwise it's a great facility, but the billing is too big of an issue to not say something.

This local guide for Google maps is here to tell you that I recently was in Wayne county hospital at deaths door. These people are wonderful and caring people. I have always been petrified of hospitals since I went to Lake Cumberland regional Hospital. Wayne county hospital is a small Hospital but they give you love each and every one of these nurses are wonderful. They don't just treat you they aren't afraid to show you love along with top nursing care. Each and every department that helped me was like that I was truly amazed at the beauty in each one of the people who work at this Hospital men and women and I just want to sing my praises it may only have 17 rooms but each person in those 17 rooms gets the best care of any Hospital I have been in or anyone I know has been in. So I want to say to all the nurses in each department you truly have a place in my heart for the rest of my life and thanks to you I am alive and recovering well God bless you each and every one thank you so much with all my love and sincerity Linda Hasty Local guide for Google maps Burnside Kentucky

I used to recommend this hospital, not anymore. If you wanted to be treating like you are an inconvenience and be made fun of by the nurses when they think that you can't hear them, then this place is for you. This place needs a major change, especially the female nurses that were there that night. The male nurse was the only one that treated me with a little respect.

(I would honestly like to speak to someone over how I was treated during this visit. However its been 2 weeks and no one has attempted to contact me. )

One of the last things I even LET my ER doctor say to me after struggling for hours with an extremely serious condition
“It’s not like it going to kill you”

When I was awoken that morning with a discussion that included “what if it attacked your brain stem next time and killed you? I don’t want that on my record!” All with the full stay of relayance of ZERO KNOWLEDGE of treatment. Honestly? I don’t really care about your record I care about my life. How about you Dr Proudfoot? Evidently not

I had been sick for 3 days throwing up with severe anxiety. I am also a Lupus patient and a patient of Dr. Mayer. I laid for 4 hours in the ER yesterday all because the ER doctor did not want to treat me. All I wanted was Zofran but instead he told me to get out and never come back! A lawsuit is being filed against this doctor and the hospital because the nurses were heartless towards me as well! Guess you’re treated like trash if you refuse the kill shots!!

They almost killed my mother! She had her gallbladder removed on Monday. Tuesday her stomach was swollen and she was in extreme pain. We called an ambulance for her and she was taken to this hospital. No one was allowed back with her because of Covid. They kept her back there for 5 hours and never even gave her a pillow. They released her and said nothing was wrong, it was normal post-surgery symptoms. My dad knowing she wouldn't be crying hysterically if something wasnt wrong, immediately took her to Somerset Hospital. After numerous tests the Doctors found that the bile duct (from her gallbladder removal) was open and free flowing bile into her abdominal cavity. This is a surgery complication that can cause DEATH!! As of today (Friday) she is still in Lake Cumberland Hospital recovering from the severe infection and TWO surgeries in less than 48 hours. Had we listened to Wayne County ER doctors, SHE WOULD HAVE DIED. I wouldnt take my goldfish to this hospital. They couldnt have cared less.

I wouldn’t even give the hospital here a star but it’s the only way I could leave a comment. The receptionist was pretty nice; however the staff has got to be the rudest individuals I have EVER encountered they acted as if they didn’t want to even provide treatment when no other soul was even in the building they wouldn’t explain what was wrong with me so after wasting my time to go to a hospital that should just be condemned at this point I was forced to drive a whole other county away and go to that hospital where they actually helped & provided my treatment I would not recommend this hospital to anybody in need of help because they DO NOT obviously care about the well being of their patients.
