Do NOT bring your children here!!!! It is located right by a kids playground and toy store (Twirl) and kids love rocks but DONT DO IT. A very toxic, lead based mineral was knowingly sold to my 3 year old daughter. It was even packaged special “special” for her. There was no warning and it was not behind glass. In fact, it was completely on her level within reach. Don’t risk it!!!

This was a great place to spend some time looking at and talking rocks and fossils with the owner! Everyone working there was so kind and helpful! The vast array of items they have for sale is amazing to say the least! Also, pricing is really great for the quality and kinds of items available. It’s hard to walk away with only a few pieces because there are truly so many fantastic finds there! Kids were having a blast at the shop too and loved the megaladon teeth and fossils they are able to purchase. Super cool place and you won’t be disappointed!

Great store, but Vanadinite is sitting on open shelves. The reason it is so pretty and shiny is because it contains lead. Considered potentially toxic especially if inhaled or ingested.
It is a fragile rock which breaks easily and should be in an "enclosed" container.

Super kid friendly & patience for little ones who are curious and excited about minerals and gems. There's great space for kiddos to use magnifying glasses and expensive things are placed high up out of reach. I love their variety, not only of items to purchase but their prices ranges are great. I continually find great gifts here! Items are a great tool to build curiosity for the little ones, and beautiful pieces for special gifts!

I had so much fun talking to the owner, Jesse, about igneous rocks. Then I bought an awesome piece of pegmatite. I wish I lived in Taos just so I can visit this store more often.

I absolutely love this shop! It was so much fun with so many unique pieces! Great place for avid collectors and rock lovers! They have collector pieces and many more lower priced pieces for the more causal lovers.

Owner is super friendly and knowledgeable! Told us a lot of good information! Will be back for sure!

Spectacular collection! The owner is a real geologist, and knows his stuff. His able assistant, Martha, helped us find just the right gift for our grandson. We could have spent the day there looking at all the marvelous specimens. Check it out.

Very helpful in finding what you need.
If you can think of a rock/stone, they have it - just ask.
Even quiet, introverted, nerdy types can feel at home in this shop. I had a great time shopping here.
