• llegamos a las 5:30 p.m y nos atendieron hasta las 8:00 p.m

• Pasaban a otras personas antes que a mi hija y en mi opinión no se miraban que su vida estuviera en peligro . Pregunté el porqué estaban ingresando a otras antes que a nosotros y solo salieron con la excusa qie era porque venían graves y no era cierto, algunos hasta estaban riéndose mientras mi hija ya no aguantaba los síntomas.

• Una vez ya "dentro" de la sala nunca nos pasaron a un cuarto, en lugar de eso todo el tiempo nos tuvieron en el pasillo, incluso allí le pusieron la intravenosa y tomaron prueba de sangre .

• Pero lo que fue el colmo, fue la actitud de la "Doctora" que llegó con una actitud tan pobre. No se ni porque sigue ejerciendo.

I came here with my 2 year old son, with a hurt leg from a trampoline. They got us in super fast, got us into a room, and he had X-rays done within 15min. He ended up braking it. They wrapped his leg and got us in touch with a specialist in Bend. I felt they did a great job, we were in and out in 45min. Thank you! 👏

I really wish we could get a different hospital in Central Oregon. The way most of the staff treats people is disgusting! Almost anytime I have ended up here, it ends with a bad experience. Going to a hospital desperate for help and relief to be treated horrible, not listened to or helped is most certainly a horrible feeling and a waste of time because we can just suffer and not be helped at home. Why do they act like they don't work for us? What gives them that right is what I want to know. If you didn't want to help people, then you should not have specialized in the medical field. I truly believe anyone in the medical field needs to have training in customer service and compassion. Anyone with a medical degree needs this training. Stop making people feel insignificant. Stop treating everyone like they are exaggerating or lying! I understand this happens, but most people aren't there doing this, and I've heard so many others say they were treated this way. Whoever owns St. Charles, your staff needs to be aware of this, and I would hope you tell them this is unacceptable because if another hospital ever comes to this area, I guarantee you St. Charles won't be the first choice anymore. You all make money off of people needing your help. It is your job to help us and to treat us. We need you, but you also need us so you have a paycheck. I will from now on be highly advocating for myself, others. I will do every review, I will complain to every person possible, and I will start writing letters to every source possible to hopefully change this, and I will also urge my peers to do the same! Social media helps reach everyone these days. You are done getting away with this treatment of human beings if I can help it. How would you all feel if someone you cared about received this horrible treatment? I understand you guys are short staffed and exhaused, most of us who come to you are miserable and exhausted so the compassion needs to go both ways. I am extremely understanding until I am treated unfaily or with disrespect. Communication and giving the patients options when it comes to their own treatment needs work. I truly hope the medical staff has to read these reviews.

I went in in late July with numbness and tingling in my feet, advancing up my legs. I was given the most conservative treatment possible ( low dose oral steroids). My condition worsened and I was admitted to St. Charles IMCU a week later, new dx Guillian Barre syndrome, sensory variants, rare disease by any standard. I was discharged 5 days later with no follow up but my primary care doctor. I have been completely incapacitated by this disease for 5 months. I am finally in the care of a specialist and am only two days into IV steroid treatment and it’s a miracle! I’m going to get my life back, I’m going to recover! I was a vital, working person with no history of disease who should have received better care all along the spectrum here, and it wasn’t my insurance company to blame. It was inferior caregiving. Do better Central Oregon, your customers deserve better, healthcare professionals aren’t alone in having worked through COVID conditions? I’m a retail worker, I worked extra hard these last several years too, maybe that is why I took so I’ll ? Either way, I can’t help feel that my story could have been avoided with more aggressive , especially right away.

I went to the Redmond emergency room at Saint Charles at around four in the morning. It was only my second time in an emergency room in my life and I was not looking forward to it as my last experience was in Eugene Springfield area. It was the most unpleasant experience.But I was in excruciating pain and had no choice. There was only one person in the waiting room. I was lucky in that way, and was immediately taken to a room. The staff was courteous and compassionate.. I had a CAT scan and was given a cup of ice chips. I have no complaints about their staff and in fact would go back there without hesitation. In reading the other reviews, I think I just got lucky. Maybe it was because of the time of the day.

My personal experience was miserable. My knee popped and gave out and I couldn’t stand or drive this past Saturday night. I had to call an ambulance to take me to the Emergency Room in Redmond. I just moved to Redmond a month ago. I was propped in a wheelchair that didn’t move for almost 5 hrs without being able to elevate my leg. I couldn’t drink any water though I asked for ice chips. After 2 hrs I was given maybe 3 small ones. I arrived at the hospital at 6:20 and at 10:39 I was finally put into an examination room but no one showed me my knee x rays or examined me in there or talked to me. A doctor had talked to me in the briefing room only, maybe 30 minutes before, telling me my x rays looked “all right” but I would need to see an Orthopedic doctor and get an MRI. I couldn’t even lay down in examining room. I perched on my wheelchair my knee still bent and hurting like hell. After 5 hrs I had a shot and a pill for pain. I texted a friend who works in Bend at the other hospital and he said to ask for food; they have turkey sandwiches and cheese at the St Charles hospital they give patients. I asked and the male nurse nearby gave me a snarky comment. A young assistant of some kind was nice and found me a sandwich the size of a deck of cards. I then had to wait an hour and a half out for the one working taxi to pick me up but a miracle happened; a kindly woman gave me a ride home while her husband in the ER for a broken ankle continued his wait. Her words to me in the car? “The worst ER I’ve ever seen.” My words to her? “Me too.” Shame on you Redmond ER. Tell your higher ups who are probably paid well to pull some staff from the hospital in Bend. There was no customer or nursing service. And my final parting shot? When my provider received the X-rays from hospital he said they had written down THE WRONG KNEE! Two thumbs down. Have a meeting and figure things out. I know how to write a Grievance report.

Wife was in severe pain. They didn't do anything for her, didn't believe her and sent her home as soon a possible. Her provider ordered a CT scan. Good thing too, because it could have been life threatening. This ER is awful.

For the first time in my life, I was taken by ambulance due to a foot & ²ankle injury. In addition, both of my possible rides were out of town. The Crooked River Fire & Rescue paramedics were very efficient & and delivered me to the Emergency Room waiting area where I was triaged, told it would be awhile til a doctor could see me & rolled me out to the waiting area in a wheelchair.
However, the issues for me, not unlike others in the emergency rooms, was only the beginning, the pain & suffering I had to endure for 2 hours without any help was not what one would expect & it seemed that there was an air of indifference within the hospital, perhaps the pain & discomfort jaded my senses.
I was eventually taken by wheel chair to what I knew was another waiting room, just with a bed, where I then waited another 45 minutes with a nurse asking a couple of questions & leaving. When the Doctor finally made her appearance she ordered the normal, x-ray, ultra sound & antibiotics, then left to return around 7:30, drained, bandaged, and then discharged me, still in horrible pain, but now with crutches I went home & for the next several days & suffered needlessly, as I was given nothing to dull my discomfort, which I could not reconcile with compassionate care.
To be fair & knowing the state of affairs In the health industry, this Hospital & its staff seemed very short handed & unable to meet the demands, at least on this day. 4+ plus hours at St. Charles with perhaps 20-30 minutes of treatment & a ham sandwich.
*My recommendation is not to be in need of the emergency room.
