I met Dr. Shepherd in December 2023 for menopause symptoms which included terrible hot flashes, disturbances in sleep and night sweats.
After a conversation about all the options available to me, I decided on hormone replacement therapy. My life hasn’t been the same since, within a week the hot flashes were gone. The night sweats and disturbances in sleep disappeared as well. To my surprise I had an increase in my libido.
All of this lead me to make some lifestyle changes which included diet and exercise.
These 2 tenets are essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I started off in January with the Ketogenic Diet, intermittent fasting, lifting weights, meditation and yoga.
My goals were to loose 20 pounds, loose 6% body fat and gain muscle. In 6 months with no drugs just consistency in my workouts and eating healthy, I have surpassed my goal and lost 31 pounds and 4% of my body fat and gained muscle mass all at the age of 54!!
Dr. Shepherd teaches these principles to her patients that will work. You have to do the work, show up, move your body and make good food choices!! I’m proof that it works and I love the way that I feel and look! I’m getting stronger every day and I’ve increased my metabolic health.
