I have been a patient at Homestead since January 2020. Dr. P. and I got to know each other quickly when I had COVID in April of that year. I could not have asked for a more grounded and wise doctor during that experience! She made several house calls over the few weeks of symptoms and regularly checked in on me. I assumed this awesome service was due to the novelty of the virus, however I have come to learn that this is just how Dr. Pennavaria practices medicine.

I highly recommend Dr. P. as your family physician as well as the direct-primary-care model. At Homestead Family Medicine we are patients, not a number-- this is felt from the moment you enter the clinic and the front staff greets you to the time the doctor spends with you. This is the way medicine is supposed to be practiced.

Dr. Pennavaria is the doctor I always wanted and did not believe existed: smart, funny, caring, wise, fierce, and compassionate. She partners along side me in my health care and in life.

Hands down best experience my family has ever had with health care. We are so happy we found this place. Direct primary care has been significantly more affordable and accessible than jumping through the hoops of using my insurance. I feel seen & heard, genuinely cared for and supported by all staff members. Dr. Laura is very warm and personable. My 6 year old loves the aquarium, activities, and chatting with everyone!

Dr P is an incredible doctor. She listened carefully, helped identify solutions to some long standing problems I had been experiencing and helped me evaluate treatment options based on both the likelihood of positive outcome and the cost. A very disappointing experience. The idea behind Direct Primary Care is great, the implementation is not. Multiple misdiagnoses and overmedication. No routine care reminders: missed mammogram, colonoscopy, vaccines for the child. Not a single actual problem solved. I'm happy we switched to other providers after 2+ years of getting nowhere.

I have been amazed and impressed with the professional knowledge of Dr. Laura, but the most welcomed and difference that I found in her practice, is the kindness and caring of her staff and the doctor herself. When I have had difficulties in getting the specialized care, such as x-rays, or MRI's, and/or blood tests and labs, Doc Laura and Danielle have taken charge and the headache out of getting it straightened out, which is not something that I can say I have experienced in the past! We highly recommend Dr Laura Pennavaria. She is very thoughtful and spends quality time on each visit. Our family of 6 is very confident in her care. It’s also convenient for her to treat and get familiar with our entire family and provide excellent care at her office or house calls if necessary. Exactly, the old fashioned care we’ve been looking for.
She had diagnosed and educated us about reoccurring skin condition on our 8yr old during her first exam of him- which had previously been misdiagnosed for several years at a different pediatrician office.
