i don’t have any personal frustrations with the staff, other than the incompetence i’ve experienced every time i go. i had super important bloodwork drawn here a few times & had orders from my specialist to do so. they were incapable of faxing my bloodwork back to the correct dr, despite it being the same dr that ordered the labwork. i had them try 3 separate times, all going to some random nurse midwife not even in the state. because of this, i ended up being admitted to the hospital because my dr wasn’t able to see my levels in time. i now drive all the way to woodland park to a uc health office so i can have a 5 min blood draw. i will never be back to any HRRMC location unless i am bleeding out and have no other option

Although the doctor was very pleasant, the receptionist withheld information on how I would be charged. Currently fighting a surprise bill 6 times what I was expecting to pay.

Let me just start with why we were here. We showed up because our 8 year old son had broken his arm and was in such intense pain he couldn’t move.
Two beautiful and amazingly kind nurses rushed out to help him and make him feel as comfortable as possible. They were sweet and caring and funny! (It always helps to make light of stressful situations).
Then the Dr of the ER came in and was also so supportive and giving us options of what we could do. The X-ray tech was gentle and listened to my son and continually asked if anything was hurting him.
Words just can’t express how amazing they took care of my little boy. THANK YOU to Caitlin, Monica, Jen, Michelle, Katie and Dr. V.
Yes I wrote down your names because although it’s creepy, my gratitude for all of you and the humans you are deserves recognition. Thank you again ♥️

Billing beware-
Today I learned that if imaging is recommended during an office visit, it will be billed as a facility visit. The difference here is substantial when it comes to insurance coverage ($1,000 more in my case for a facility visit). HRRMC Billing department reminded me that this is information “posted in the exam room” but the only posting is that “Lab and imaging are billed separate from exam.” Lesson learned. Read the fine print and go elsewhere for imaging if you can.

I’m currently in a malpractice suit against her for my experience but I see she commonly refuses to treat pain.
She told me I should go see her friend in Centennial at $250 per visit instead telling me I should quit my job at the prison because of pain then they deleted the comments?
The comments about this place being a money pit are also true.
I have never had a good experience here and they refuse to treat veterans as well
By refusing to take triage. You’ll take Medicaide but not tricare? You’ll treat undocumented people but not veterans?

The care provided by Dr. O’Hara has been great for my wife and I. However, whoever is in charge of billing and appointments down there are useless. I don’t know how many times I’ve gotten duplicate bills or never even received one and all of a sudden getting calls saying a bill is due. We also just found out that an appointment for my pregnant wife that was made nearly two months in advance was apparently never entered and the best they could do was tell us to schedule another one at least another month out! I wish there was another option for healthcare in Chaffee County because these guys are an absolute nightmare to deal with.

The staff at Heart of the Rockies Regional is stellar. I went in for a finger injury and received prompt, kind, intentional, and thorough treatment. I encountered front desk staff, an RN, a practitioner, and a radiation tech and everyone was pleasant to work with and knew what they were doing. Everyone told me their names, listened to my situation, and treated me with respect. Shout out to Ali, Nika, and Cheryl! Thank you so much for your help. I left with a thoughtful and thorough treatment plan and peace of mind regarding my injury. I would gladly return here with any health issue.

My young son hurt his wrist on a hike at Mt Princeton and we arrived just an hour before closing on Friday. The staff got us in right away and quickly determined they could help him by taking x-rays (turned out to be a green stick fracture) and then the staff stayed well after closing to make sure he had a good splint and sling on. They also got him some good medication to help with the pain. We got back to our camping trip within just a few hours and we couldn't be happier with the service. Glad they were open and it really saved time and money not having to go to the ER! If you're traveling and need non-emergency medical help this is a great place.
