Have brought my MIL at least 10 times and have had to wait anywhere from 1/2 hour to almost 2 hours at every visit. They seem more interested in volume of people pushed through rather that quality of care. Staff is mostly robotically friendly, which just proves that you are a number and a copay and not anything more.

Dear [Wills Surgery Center Management],
I am writing to share my experience from a recent phone call with your office this morning. I reached out to inquire whether the Wills Surgery Center in Voorhees accepts my insurance, and was informed that you do not participate with my insurance provider.

Following this, I asked about the self-pay option and was also transparent about the fact that I had been recommended by a hospital to see a specialist optometrist. Unfortunately, the response I received was that the office could not schedule an appointment with me because we do not participate with your insurance. I was surprised by this, as I mentioned I was willing to pay out-of-pocket for the visit.

When I inquired further, I was told that proceeding with this arrangement would be considered insurance fraud. I am unsure why it would be considered fraud when I had clearly stated my intention to pay for all services myself due to your office’s lack of participation in my insurance network.

I have been a patient here for many years with excellent service from doctors. Today was the first time I had to ask to speak with the manager in charge.

Customer service is lacking. One older woman assistant/clerk at the checkout desk was very unprofessional and seemed very angry. She is not suited for a public-facing role with that demeanor.

Dr Zheng was nice and seemed knowledgeable. I will say we were rushed, no time spent helping us understand my sons eye condition.
Also, I tried to pay an outstanding balance of $33.91 in person using the statement/pmt portion and they couldn't figure out how to apply the payment without DOB and other info that I couldn't provide because I had to get back to work (took me almost 20 min just to get this far). The payment was charged on my card so I am not sure what their deal was but I am still getting notices! Not to mention, the front desk gal was so unprofessional huffing and puffing, making childish smart comments, it was insane. I was totally calm but didn't have time to stand there all day long for $33.91 and just walked out.

I went to see Dr. Susan Gordon, prior to my cataract surgery. She made me wait for about two hours. Maybe longer. While there, she allowed her techs to use that big light to look in my eye causing more pain to my eye that had the cataracts. There were no reason because she already knew my situation. The techs claimed to have been having a hard time seeing the back of my eye. It was NOT necessary at all. Then, I went into her office, and she says unfortunately, you’re going to have to be tested again. Just to harass me. Afterwards, she had her head tech do an eye exam. I have a reaction to the meds when I’m dilated. Susan Gordon, said I have to dilate you or I can’t do your surgery.I already did the test with the previous optometrist but, she insisted on repeating the exact same test. This is a case of harassment, retaliation, and discrimination for filing a complaint against Dr. Russell Harris. She did the surgery on 08/27/2024. The anesthesia she used put me completely under. I knew nothing of what was going on. That’s not supposed to happen. While she had me under, she purposely injured my right eye causing blurred vision. When I confronted her about it, she lied to my face and said we use this for everyone. This so called doctor is very dangerous! Her license should be revoked!

Patients beware! This practice failed me and I now have loss of vision! I was told there was no need to be concerned about my eye disease ! They were wrong, there was so much they should have informed about concerning macular degeneration! Instead I was told “no worries, you will be dead before you go blind”. Sadly, I trusted them!!!When I questioned the Dr. , her response was I’m so sorry you must of slipped through the cracks.
Disgusting and UNACCEPTABLE!
I hope this helps somebody else from the fate I am experiencing due to the negligence of Eye Physicians, Voorhees, NJ. There are many things to do to catch the transition of this disease early!

The wait is ridiculous- and the staff was rude. As a customer, an appointment is an appointment and everyone’s time is important - and the staff expressed no sympathy, nor concern. If the doctors cannot manage their time effectively, they should change their processes to meet the patient needs
